The very motivating and motivated force of nature and nurture known as – Hunt FOR Truth – nominated me for an ABC (Awesome Blog Content) Award – Some Fine Awesome Blog Content – please check out the other nominees.
Thank you very much! It’s gratefully appreciated!
The rules of this blog award are:
1. Display the logo on your blog.
2. Thank the blogger who nominated you and link back to their blog.
3. Using the alphabet, describe yourself in a word or a phrase.
4. Nominate 8 deserving bloggers and inform them of the nomination.
Receiving a blog award nomination can be rather disorienting for a blogger, even if you’ve received one before.
“Surely what a man does when he is taken off his guard is the best evidence for what sort of man he is.” ― C.S. Lewis
Your heart skips a beat – OMG someone has noticed my blog and it’s wonderful… yet also rather frightening because I was blogging away almost certain that no one was reading my posts which gave me freedom to say what I pleased unselfconsciously and now I know someone is reading AND likes what I’m writing enough to give me an award nomination for it. Someone is READING what I’m WRITING!!! Self-consciousness descends and creates conflict… Hmmm, you think, I should write a post about that!
A big smile lights up your face – perhaps you were feeling a bit confused, discouraged, blue or something which all humans feel on a daily basis, and the award nomination surprised you like an unexpected gift which says – Welcome to the community, we love having you here! – it shocked you out of your routine and made you suddenly aware of yourself because someone else is aware of you.
“When we lose one blessing, another is often most unexpectedly given in its place.” ― C.S. Lewis
What do you do now?
A – Accept the award. And thank the blogger who gave you the award! Remember that they felt good about giving you the nomination, so feed that feeling by accepting it graciously and enthusiastically – give a gift for being given a gift which is a gift you enjoyed receiving!
B – Bravo! Be happy about getting it. Seriously, you deserve it and that’s that! Blog awards link the community, they link you to the community and link the community to you! They are fun.
C – Contemplate how it made you feel to receive it, because other bloggers will feel a similar feeling when you pass the award on. It’s a great feeling to get an affirmation and encouragement, and a greater feeling to give a boost and support to someone else.
