Do Capricorns Like Silly People?

Do Capricorns like silly people – is a search term which led someone to my blog. It made me chuckle so much that I decided to dedicate a post to it. It also made me intensely curious about what had inspired such a search. Whether I’ll be able to answer the question… doesn’t really matter because the querent is long gone and chances are they had already made up their mind about the relationship between Capricorns and silly people, they had the answer they wanted and were just looking for confirmation which they may or may not have found in one of my posts about my Sun sign.

My uncertainty as to whether they found what they were looking for comes partially from that problematic issue which occurs in most interactions – you know what you mean when you’re expressing something, you know where you’re coming from, you know what you’re thinking and feeling (and all the tangents which connect to it), however the other person interprets what you’re expressing from where they are coming from, from what they are thinking and feeling (and all the tangents which connect to it).

The person who asked that question knew exactly why they were asking it. They probably had a Capricorn in mind (maybe themselves), someone with whom they have a personal connection. They have a particular definition of the concept of ‘silly’, and of who they consider silly people to be (maybe themselves in this scenario). This question has a living breathing world within it which inspired it and prompted this person to use it as a search. But I can’t see any of that, all I can see is the words as they are… or as I interpret them to be based on my own personal reference points for Capricorns and silly people – if I use myself then Capricorns and silly people are one and the same. There are other Capricorns which could encompass the silly people label too.

The serious label which is often assigned to Capricorns isn’t without merit. It isn’t just a veneer or a facade, or a projection which other signs have applied to our sign which sticks to us like glue even though it is incorrect (as some of the other things which are associated stereotypically with Capricorns often come across as being). We can be very serious people. Ridiculously serious… which would explain why a common search term which brings astrology fans to my site links narcissism and Capricorns. Narcissists take themselves extremely seriously and find it nigh on impossible to laugh at themselves. Capricorns do take themselves seriously, but they can and do laugh at themselves, however they usually do it in a deadpan style and so it is easily missed and misinterpreted… which in some ways makes our wit funnier for us.

There are many different forms of humour. Many different ways to interpret the word ‘silly’. Many different Capricorns. And many types of narcissist. As many as there are people in the world.

.

If you were to accuse a Capricorn of being a narcissist, they might consider that you were being humorous. They might enjoy the jibe as a delightfully silly interlude in an otherwise serious day, and accept your accusation as a nudge, nudge, wink, wink between you and them.

However if you were being serious when you labeled them as such, and they realised that you were earnestly enlightening them to what was wrong with them according to you, it might raise an eyebrow of disdain in your direction and they might consider that you were being a silly ass… partly because if they were a narcissist, confronting them about it is a silly thing to do. You’ve just revealed your hand and yet you keep wondering why you’re always losing at cards.

Tell a Capricorn the awful truth about themselves… and they will more than likely pause to assess your reasons, motivations and intentions for the words which have just spilled out of your mouth and what they reveal about your mind.

If you think that you’re doing them a favour… be sure you’d enjoy having that kind of favour returned. Capricorns don’t like being indebted to anyone and pay their I.O.U’s as soon as possible. They also have a tendency to keep hypocrisy as a pet peeve.

.

Most Capricorns are aware of their faults, flaws, and all the other things which annoy other signs about them. They annoy us too. We’re quite stoic about it, which often irritates others, especially those who think that we should be on a mission to eradicate such things, change who we are until we become who we are not (to please who exactly?), transcend being human, rather than accept them, own them and be responsible about them. Embrace the fact that we’re human and it’s messy… but a mess can be creative. Margaritaville, anyone?

    • The first time I became aware of Rowan Atkinson was when I was a child and used to watch a show called – Not the Nine O’Clock News. Very funny. I bought the tape of the series and listened to it until I wore it out and it came unraveled.

Silliness is a wonderful way to relax and enjoy life πŸ˜‰

    • Um… *looks nervous… you said ‘bring it on’ with regards to a Capricorn, that’s like… Mmmmkay, you’re one of those fearless signs, who leaps naked into a void and shouts ‘Yippee k-yay, MF-er!’ aren’t you. Because saying that kind of thing re: Capricorns is like playing truth or dare and the dare is the truth! πŸ˜€

Hope it works out! Best wishes! ps. I’m not responsible for the ‘bad’ behaviour of other Capricorns. Just sayin’ πŸ˜‰

        • Did you warn your Capricorn to put their seatbelt on… or are you testing them by not warning them πŸ˜‰

Personally, Capricorn and Scorpio is an awesome match. Both very straight-talkers who hate bs – but sometimes dish it as a test.

This Cap finds being around Scorpios relaxing and fun. I love my Scorpio, or strong Scorpio-influenced, friends. I’ve been with a strong Scorpio-influenced Virgo for a long time, and this is a match made in a meeting of equals heaven. But I do have a lot of Scorpio in my chart – it’s my dominant sign. Intensity with a side order of challenge is my favourite food.

Capricorns never ever give up, so don’t expect any white flags being waved, and if a white flag is waved… watch out. But… Scorpios play a similar kind of truth or dare.

This bumpy ride may have an interesting destination πŸ˜€ Hope it’s paradise with a side order of fun WTF!

Also… check out the sign of your Moon versus theirs, if you can (without freaking them out πŸ˜‰ )… The Moon sign plays a significant role in how emotional relationships flow. If you’re into astro, this is an excellent book – Through the Looking Glass by Richard Idemon.

My Moon is in a stable if somewhat neurotic sign, so the rest of me can lose its shit but that bit is fairly calm if somewhat worried by its calmness when every other part is losing it!

            • Astrology is an interesting perspective to consider, but ultimately it has its limits and the real deal is about people, you and him. We learn by taking risks… sometimes those risks rewards us in ways which we could never imagine, and sometimes… well, you know the other side of it. Sometimes it is a bit of everything.

If you want to explore more about the astro side of things in a fun way, this is a good site, they have some savvy astrologers who write for them – http://sasstrology.com/posts
