Mystery Blogger Award:

At first I thought it was me, it had to be me, it’s usually me, but then I realised that it wasn’t me at all it was you.

WordPress, it’s you, and you seem to be glitching out more than usual.

Perhaps you shouldn’t have changed your colours. I know the new outfit is bright, perfect to liven up the Winter months, but did you really need to create more… yes, yes, you did because this platform is all about creativity, and creativity always demands to create more.

It’s going to be tricky to solve the puzzles the new glitches are causing, but I love a creative challenge.

Let’s get to it.

3 things about myself:

#1 – I thought I’d follow some of the rules and flout the rest since that kind of behaviour is an essential rule of creativity.

#2 – When I create a post, I never know what I’m going to do or say until I start doing it and saying it, which is one of the reasons I love blogging, it’s a constant experience of surprising the self with the self.

#3 – I’m not going to nominate, instead I’m going to share links to places I go when I’m creating a post and/or need some inspiration.

Sites I visit for creative inspiration:

The Atlantic – World Edition (interesting views of news. Sometimes an article will trigger a flow of thoughts which I then share in a post)

Wikimedia Commons (I use this regularly to find images to use as the featured image of a post. I also love exploring the works of creatives. Sometimes an image will become a prompt for a post)

Goodreads – quote search (great collection of quotes to use in posts, but also good food for thought. Sometimes I’ll just look up a word and see what comes up, then use a quote which catches my attention as a prompt for a post)

Internet Sacred Text Archive (it is a treasure trove of old texts and out of print books. Sometimes something I read will start an internal conversation which will then spill over into a post)

What’s Your Sign – Your Guide to Symbolic Meanings of All Kinds (an in-depth look at the meanings humans have given to things, animals, etc. Sometimes I’ll look up an animal or insect which drew my attention to it in a dream or in RL and something I read becomes inspiration for a post – one of the most popular posts on my blog is about the possible meaning of flies)

Sabian Oracle – Sabian Symbols (Sabian Symbols are a part of astrology. Two of my recent posts got their titles from a Sabian Symbol. If I’m feeling a bit blank, I’ll use the oracle and see what comes up. The creator of this oracle gives loads of key words and ideas with each result. If something stirs within while reading the result, I’ll write about that)

Sometimes while looking something up online I’ll end up somewhere which I think has great prompt potential for later, so I’ll bookmark it my IDEAS folder.

This is one of those – Mantelligence: 83 Hypothetical Questions – Fun, but nearly impossible to answer – the site seems to be sponsored by a wine company and I think it helps to be slightly tipsy when browsing the articles. It’s a goldmine for prompts.

Okay, I’m bored of doing that now, so your boredom threshold is probably being tested too.

Sadje’s 5 Questions:

If life offered a redo, what part of it will you want to change?

None of it. I’m finally at peace with things as they are, have been, and I enjoy figuring out the puzzles life as it is offers.

Can you remember what was the one thing you hated about school?

Yes. School for the most part made the activity of learning a very boring chore. Took me a while to undo the damage it had done to my love of learning.

Growing up, what was your dream profession/job?

Helicopter rescue pilot.

If you met your English teacher today, what would be her opinion about your blog?

I guess your English teacher was female, Sadje.

All of my English teachers were British, except for one who was American, and she would probably say: “I see you’re still ignoring my advice.” It drove her nuts that I would spell some words in British-English and other words in American-English (the words I learned in her class), she advised me to pick one or the other or else she’d give me F’s.

Would you rather be the frog prince/ princess or the ugly duckling?

I’d rather just be myself.

#2 – Which creative person has had the most influence on you and your creativity?

#3 – Which work of art, literature, invention, song, film, etc, which has already been created do you wish you could have created?
