Blog Awards

Being a blogger is a weird and wonderful experience. It has highs and lows and a roller coaster track of a learning curve. Just when you think you know what you’re doing, you realise there is so much more to learn. It’s fun, it can also be scary, but it is always thrilling whether you’re screaming in fear or hooting with joy.

There are times when you’re caught up in the momentum of blogging, pouring energy into your blog, your passions fueling post after post.

There are also times when you crash into an invisible wall and wonder if you should just delete your blog or leave it in blog limbo land and walk away for a while… maybe to return, maybe not.

Whenever I hit that wall… the being who watches over bloggers seems to intervene by sneaking up on me and shouting ‘BOO!’ in my ear so loudly that my surprise knocks me right through the wall smashing it to pieces. Or something like that. It’s a fanciful way of saying that sometimes I need a zap of encouragement to keep going because my engine has stalled.

Bloggers need encouragement sometimes… sometimes all the time… and there are many ways for us to get it. From people letting us know they enjoy what we do, by hitting ‘Like’ on a post, by reblogging or sharing a post, by commenting, by Following, by giving a Blog Award Nomination.

So, I’ve created this page to collect the Blog Award Nominations which some lovely blogging souls have generously given to my blog. I’m adding links to their blogs, and to the post on their blog which contains my blog nomination as it also has links to all the other blogs which were given a nomination. I’m also adding links to my posts in which I passed on the Blog Award Nominations.

When you’re a blogger, you’re part of a community and that community is a very supportive and sharing one.

Thank you for your support and for sharing these Blog Award Nominations with me, it means a lot to me and you touched my heart deeply with your generous gesture.

  1. This series of blogs resonates with the steely might of an upturned soul that now glimmers into the shadow of the night . A magnificent achievement of scope and purpose . Well done for helping us masculine folk in need of pause , respite and reflection …

  3. Just wanted to say that by publishing your blog, you helped me A LOT to literally SAVE my life.

I was of course raised by a narcissist, and as a Golden Child, it was particularly hard to get out of the denial, as I was praised all the time as an exemple. But it was what it was : disgusting emotional incest.

I naturally developped a “codependent” personnality trouble (people pleaser) and depression, and your text on “Am I a magnet for narcissist” resonated very deeply with myself. I use it often to share “my” thoughts with other people and every time I read it, it gives me strenght.

It’s a real pleasure to read you as I love your writing style, and your will to see things as complex as they are.

Hope this is some fuel for you if you are still doubting sometimes !

    Many thanks from France !

    • Thank you very much for sharing, and for the wonderful encouragement. I am deeply touched by your words 🙂

I think the experience of being the Golden Child is in certain ways much harder to deal with than being the Scapegoat Child, both are equally traumatic, but the Scapegoat has periods of ‘rest’ from the attention of the narcissist parent when their existence is being ignored, while the Golden Child is constantly under supervision. The narcissist parent wants to take over the mind, body, and soul of the Golden Child and live through them another life, their ideal life.

Breaking free from the role which was given to you and your narcissist parent’s rule and hold over you took a lot of courage, strength and personal power. Saving yourself is one of the greatest gifts you can give to yourself.

Keep taking very good care of yourself ❤
